Consumer Information 

In line with the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights, ANZMTG advocates consumer engagement in developing and conducting research activities. Consumer participation better enables ANZMTG to develop research into the improvement of quality care, treatment and management of patients with melanoma.

 

Any person who is affected by melanoma, including patients, carers, family and friends, is considered to be a consumer.

 

ANZMTG liaises with consumer representatives regarding protocols, study documents and research activities. Our initial goal is to consult with consumers regarding clinical trials processes, protocol development and patient information and informed consent procedures.

 

We are committed to supporting consumers and working collaboratively with research and support networks to mentor consumer participation within clinical trials. This collaboration will strengthen the research aims under investigation as well as the future directions of melanoma research in general.

 

Currently we are in the process of developing a number of resources and initiatives to assist consumers become active and informed representatives in the development of clinical trials.
